Itsy Bitsy Spider .....

Over the weekend my beloved grandson came and told me there was a HUGE spiderweb in my bathroom.

Not without trepidation did I approach the lair of this creature. Upon seeing it, I let out my breath and said nonchalantly:

"Oh, that's a tiny one, and the spider isn't even there. Maybe he's left and found another home."

It was the most higgildy-piggidly spider web I have ever seen. The poor creature's creative talents were sorely put to the test to weave his (or her) web high up in the ceiling between the door, the shower, and the geyser. It was so raised that I had to bend my neck sharply to even locate it visually. I don't know how a short eight-year-old saw it.

Our beloved Rabbi Bernstein of Aydat HaDerekh - https://www.facebook.com/AydatHaDerekhsays men need to have stuff to do in the synagogue otherwise they don't attend. Perhaps my grandson was just looking for something to do when he found the spiderweb?

But now, just a couple of days later, that little spider has reinforced his little web and it now has millions of lace-like strands crisscrossing virtually the entire ceiling in my bathroom. Add to that the alarming fact that Little Spider has caught a Big Insect in the front and bottom part of the web which is right by the entrance - and now I have to duck every time I enter my own bathroom!  Not only that, but I also have to keep my eyes locked on this unfolding saga in case something falls on me!

My mind is working overtime planning the attack on this home invasion. I gave my vacuum cleaner to my daughter just the other day, so I will have to use the broom - but what if the spider jumps onto the handle and runs right at me?!

I now have peace - At 9am in the morning, I shall message the main house and ask Nwabisa, the lady who works there during the week, to come to my aid with her vacuum cleaner and remove the enemy. I wish I was braver and could just leave the little thing there,  but the terror is real - especially at night.

Hopefully he (or she) will leave of his (or her) own accord before then.

Shavu'a tov
