A day in the life...
What an amazing surprise to open my front door last night and find my twin girls there, prepared to take me out to dinner to mark the Big 60! You could have blown me away with a feather!
I'm not a big one for birthdays, but I always tell my friends that I celebrate their lives when their born-days come around. And of course, I remember my children's. But mine, not so much.
However, having reached this day, I looked in the mirror this morning and said to God "Shu, Lord, I have been alive for 60 years! It's amazing how You have preserved my life for so long! Thank You!"
In addition, when I said the Modah Ani upon waking, I was very mindful of the miracle of daily resurrection.
I looked inside to see if I felt any different. I'm still not sure. But one thing I know for sure - whatever I have done for the LORD up to now has just been practice. I feel a new strength to apply myself more fully to whatever He sends me to do. Every breath, every heartbeat, belongs to Him. Every morning He gives my life back to me for another day, I will celebrate Him by keeping His commandments, loving whoever He sends my way, building His kingdom on Earth, and doing my best to hasten the coming of the Messiah - Who is coming very soon anyway. And spreading His Truth.
With Rosh Chodesh Adar 1 coming up next week, I will also progess to Psalm 61. It's really short, so I will be able to study it well.
Thank you God for my life and my friends and Your love for me.
Very sweet. Beautiful picture indeed. Happy birthday once again Penny
