Temol Shilshom
Stuck away round a corner and up some stairs and round another corner in the heart of Jerusalem is this amazing little gem where you can eat and read at the same time - and I just love its name: The day before yesterday!
It's quaint and lovely and the tables are way to small to accommodate all the food they supply for a standard breakfast! Delicious doesn't begin to describe the fare this little kitchen produces.
I chose this name for my post today because I'm feeling a little bit nostalgic - and happy - HaShem has blessed me so much over the last little while - I feel loved and spoilt. I'm very easy to please though, so when the Master of the universe goes out of His way to show me He loves me, I cannot express the joy that wells up in me. But let me try.
I am blessed to be planning a 4-day visit to my grandson at his new home in PE for his birthday on the 20th February. We are both so excited. He says it's still too long to wait! I tell him it's getting closer each day!
My beloved mother has been restored to the point where she is able to go home after 8 weeks in ICU, a general hospital ward and then step-down. What a joy for all of us! I thank HaShem for giving her back to us for another period of time. We are all very grateful. When I saw her a few days ago, she was in good spirits and we giggled like girls.
I woke up 2 days ago to a new student requesting lessons. In a matter of hours she had signed on and we do our first lesson tomorrow. Abba always provides.
I've just had the nightly Zoom connect with Juan-Dre and he was full of beans today. We said the bedtime prayer and then he chatted about all sorts of things. Full of energy! Counting the days!
Later on, I hope to do some reading in the Shulkhan Arukh and thereafter some friends and I are having a Zoom get-together - we haven't decided what we're going to do this evening, we'll see when we get there. We will probably start off sharing about our days - it's always interesting. The short prayer we close with after Shacharit or Mincha has us thanking God for rescuing us - a lot of the time from ourselves. We can be as clumsy as toddlers!
All that remains is to thank HaShem for the beautiful day He gave me today and for sending this beautiful evening to follow it. My heart is full and I am thankful for everything He is to me and does for me and gives to me. He is such a generous, kind & loving God and Father.
Layla tov!

Shalom Louise. Yes, gratefulness is invaluable in life. As R. Ronyt posted this morning, the more we focus on things we have to be thankful for, the less we will notice the things we don't have. Shavu'a tov!
