My story

Episode 8

Shalom shalom friends!

The last few days have been exhilarating for me - no, I didn't go white water rafting like our Rabbi and Rebbitzin! - in the sense that I have been so busy creating various potential sources of income: From doing online stuff in front of my computer to going around and delivering products I manufacture - Wow, what a whirlwind!

As you can probably tell by today's picture, I want to talk about movies. Let me tell you how I arrived at that idea.

As all of you lovely people know by now, one of the avenues I am walking down is that I am in the process of monetizing my blog to earn some mula. Just before writing this post, I was busy setting up my Affiliate Account with a big company. Right there and then I decided the first thing I would recommend on my blog would be movies. Specifically Jewish movies. I love them. The first one I watched was

It was riveting! I watched all 3 seasons in 2 days flat. Then I watched it again!

Between then and now, I have watched as many Jewish films as I could find, though they are not as easy to come by as the usual kind. One that really stands out to me from last Sukkot - or was it the one before? - is Ushpizin. It is available on YouTube and Amazon. Here's one link I found from Warner Brothers:

Which brings me right up to yesterday evening, when I
discovered that one is able to watch full-length movies on YouTube. Of course, I searched for "Jewish movies" and I decided on The Scarlet and the Black - the true story of the Scarlet Pimpernel in the Vatican, of all places. The way this man stood up for innocent people, including Jews, Brits, and Americans that the Nazis wanted to capture and torture, and how he saved so many people - it was absolutely amazing.

I had to cringe when the Catholic priests prayed to Mary, as we pray to HaShem in the merit of Yeshua HaMashiach, as the Bible teaches us to. If you are able to close your eyes momentarily to some of the Catholic practices, you will find the story exceedingly gripping. The tension and terror of those days are unfathomable to us today, as Westerners. When I saw soldiers under Nazi command jump out of military jeeps, fully armed with automatic weapons, and chase and assault women and children, it wVas almost more than I could bear. Yet I could not tear myself away until the very end.

Friends & fellow believers in the Messiah, we must be resolute and rigorous in our firm and bold stance against any form of anti-Semitism. Even now, what they call neo-Nazism is on the rise. We must take an active stand against all forms of this injustice wherever we find it, no matter how small the incidence. All it takes for bad men (and women) to succeed is for good men (and women) to do/say nothing.

Let us stand up for and take sides with Yeshua's family, the Jewish people, so that He may stand up for us and take our side.
