Flower-strewn stairway
Although the staircase in the image above is much grander than my humble little wooden staircase, it's the closest I could find to the colour that covered my 17 steps to the garden this morning, (I should've taken a photo!)
When I went downstairs to check on my plants for the first time this morning, I smiled as I saw that my Father had given me a beautiful, yellow, flower-strewn staircase to walk down. I felt very loved from On High.
I started this blog - and a few others! - a little while ago, but there have been many blessings from the LORD each and every day since then. Flowers on the stairs, two hornbills eating in the tree right outside my front door, little birds crossing my path, talking to my grandson each evening, miraculous provision for my needs, etc, etc. The list of God's goodness just goes on, ad infinitum.
It rained last night and continued this morning. I love this weather, somehow, it reminds me of the Garden of Eden. The tree tops are waving in the gentle breeze and nature is quiet. The sirens and hooters from the crazy outside world are continuing in the background, though.
With all the pain and evil that are going on in the world today - on personal, national and global levels - I am grateful that HaShem has allowed me to continue living in my little sanctuary, where I can so easily commune with Him in the face of heartache or health or heartiness - He is always the same and can and does bear our burdens if we allow Him to.
The very unexpected death of one of my cousins a short while ago was most shocking. And then the other day another lady I've known for years suddenly passed. So many people are leaving this world in these days. We should all endeavour by all means possible to make sure we are prepared to face the afterlife, our Creator.
From when I was a little girl, I have always thought that I would be alive at the time of the Messiah's return. And if I look at all the signs of the times now, as spoken of by the Bible thousands of years ago, it seems to me - and many others - that His return is imminent. He will soon be returning on the clouds of glory. When He does, what will your response to Him be? What will His response to you be?
Life is hard on every level and I, above all others, am imperfect. Rabbi Shaul (Paul) called himself "chief of sinners". I can say that of myself, too. But God has called us to Himself and removed our sins from us as far as the east is from the west, if we will only accept His offer of forgiveness and restoration.
As long as we live, there is hope. Let us hold onto that Hope firmly, strongly, with both hands, and not let go. That Hope is Yeshua, the Messiah.
